Organizational Structure of the Southern Georgian Bay War of 1812 Bicentennial Committee
The Southern Georgian Bay War of 1812 Bicentennial Committee is taking the overall lead in the regions planning for the 2012 - 2014 Bi-centennial.
In April of 2009 the Southern Georgian Bay Bicentennial Committee was divided into two groups. A core committee that would focus on regional events and an advisory committee that would on their individual initiatives.
On August 1st, 2009 David J. Brunelle was hired as project director via a Tourism Development Fund grant and is currently working with the core committee and advisory committee to the help all initiatives become a reality.

Mandate
To actively engage the communities throughout the Southern Georgian Bay Area to create support, interest and understanding of the significance of the War of 1812 to shaping Canada's history.
To insure our local 1812-inspired attractions and events have adequate resources to attract new visitation through local, Provincial and Federal partnership.

Oversee development and execution of the funding strategy, budget and communications and marketing strategy. Identify community education opportunities.

Reporting Structure
Project Director reports directly to the Core Committee.

Commitment
Monthly meetings – 2 hours.
Active participation on committee often with follow-up assignments.
